PBL baru sodah keloar!

Balakrishnan, a 3-year old Indian boy was referred fom Seremban Hospital in Negeri Sembilan to the paediatric institute, Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) for several episodes of pneumonia, as well as frequent bouts of upper respiratory tract infections since the age of 6 months.

Students’ tasks.

1. Discuss/look up for difficult term if any.

2. Identify the chief complaint.

3. Discuss the possible causes of the patient’s chief complaint.

4. What further information with regard to the patient’s history are necessary to enable you to formulate differential diagnosis in this patient, with the view of arriving at the possible working diagnosis.

X-linked agammaglobulinaemia, a rather rare disease in Malaysia.
